Many consider Labor Day to be the “end” of summer, and yes it may be getting a bit darker earlier, but we at We Love Beantown know that summer truly doesn’t end until the Autumnal Equinox – the real first day of fall. And since that doesn’t happen until September 22, there is still plenty of time for your summer aquatic activities in Boston. Hopefully this photo is a reminder that you still have some time left this season for that sunset-sailboat moment in the Harbor or on the Charles.
How to go nautical in Boston over the next few weeks: Rent a kayak (or canoe if you’d like to bring along a furry, four-legged friend!), try out Stand Up Paddle Boarding (if you’re okay potentially taking a dunk in the Charles), or go for a sail with Community Boating. Hop a ferry to one of the Boston Harbor Islands for a picnic or for some exploring.
Labor Day has come and gone, and while that means you may need to give up the seersucker and white, you don’t need to brace yourself for autumn just yet! Here’s to hoping for an Indian Summer!
