Today’s top local news story on all the major networks? Tropical Storm Sandy became Hurricane Sandy today. In the Caribbean. Not Boston, the Caribbean. According to news reports, there is a chance it may make its way to New England. There are a lot of fancy meteorological terms that I know I wouldn’t be able to use properly. Basically, it comes down to this: if all sorts of specific requirements actually happen, then the hurricane will take a sharp turn left and hit New England. But based on the news this morning and the Weather Channel’s website, this doesn’t seem that likely. In fact, I got my money on the Red Sox winning the 2013 World Series before this hurricane hits us. If the hurricane’s path will target Boston, we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
I doubt it’s gonna happen. I’ve lived in Boston for almost three years now and I’ve experienced more earthquakes than hurricanes here.
