Okay, I know I broke the rules a bit and picked my own photo for this week’s highlight. But that just means that fellow Bostonites need to share their Head of the Charles Regatta (HOCR) photos from this past weekend with us on our We Love Beantown Flickr group!
The world’s largest two-day rowing event, HOCR draws thousands to Boston in October every year for a jam-packed weekend of racing and festivities. Or more festivities than racing for the thousands of other spectators that come to watch along the banks of the Charles.
If crew’s not your thing and you’re inwardly groaning about watching people paddle up and down the river as fast as they can, you definitely need to catch up on some rowing news: Between protesters jumping in London’s Thames to disrupt a race, “excited” Olympic medalists, and plans to literally row across the pond, there’s some good stuff there.
See you next year, rowers!
