It’s Halloween, bitches! Big things are happening around town this weekend.
Now, we can’t always get everything we want, but a girl can dream. If time and money were no object, here’s what I’d really be doing this weekend.
Galloween! at the Gallows – I don’t even want to tell you about this event, to be honest. It feels like my special, secret Halloween. This Saturday evening, hundreds will pour into the Gallows in the South End, displaying their best costumes, while drinking *amazing* cocktails (try the Healer -it’s epic), and dancing the night away. Sound too good to be true? Well, it’s also free. BOOM. Mind blown. Halloween planned. Last year’s DJ was killer. But seriously, you shouldn’t go.
Lovin’ Spoonful Tailgate – Lovin’ Spoonfuls, a Boston-based non-profit food rescue that saves and distributes perishable and unserved food that would otherwise be trashed (and recent MassChallenge winner to boot), is bringing back their ultimate tailgate. Sunday night, from six to ten at Sam’s in the Seaport will feature 12 VIP Boston Chefs sharing their takes on tailgate favorites. Who will be there? Joanne Chang of Flour & Myers + Chang; Andy Husbands of Tremont647; Jamie Bissonnette of Coppa and Toro; Colin Lynch of Menton & No. 9 Park; Mary Dumont of Harvest and others. The $100 dollar ticket provides access to tasting stations and complimentary cocktails, beer, and wine. Also, there will be lawn games.
So if I find a $100 bill – you can catch me at Sam’s on Sunday. Depending on my appetite for adventure and/or ability to pull off a costume, I’ll be the dancing fool on Saturday at the Gallows.
