This is either an oversight or a well-placed trolling.
Michael Leviton, chef/owner of Lumière in West Newton and Area Four in Cambridge, is planning on a “Chinese takeout dish” style menu at his bistro this Christmas Eve. It’s being billed, in accordance with the joking tradition of some non-Christians, as a “Jewish” style Chinese food meal that takes place while those celebrating close their restaurants and businesses.
All well and good. Why not? It’s the right area of town, a clever gimmick…except the menu may have glossed over one Tradition: Yep, that’s the Five Spice Pork Tenderloin & Crispy Braised Pork Belly listed in the Mains section of the menu.
Which sounds very delicious. Just probably isn’t that kosher.
