Sarah Hodges and the Tech Prom Committee (Jennifer Lum, Dave Balter, Cort Johnson, Mike Troiano and Nicole Stata) crew, masterminds behind the original Dave Balter Tech Prom (2011) are back with a late winter prom, courtesy of some big name sponsors such as a Canton, MI limo service company.
The event aims to bring together the entire Boston tech community and all those interested in entering the start-up scene. The first Tech Prom boasted an impressive list of attendees – a great opportunity to meet some of Boston’s best in the start-up world.
This time, prom will be held at Red Lantern on January 23rd from 8:00-12:00 am. Prom goers will dance the night away (or relax in the BzzAgent lounge) while enjoying an open bar courtesy of Boston Seed Capital, passed hors d’oeuvres, and sushi and Dim Sum displays from Goodwin Procter. Plus sponsor Rue La La has you covered with corsages and boutonnieres, saving you the trip. Expect party favors from Resource Technology Partners and other surprises including a ‘special surprise’ from SVB.
Prom-queen-for-life Sarah Hodges says, “It was such an incredible experience to watch hundreds of Boston startuppers kick back and let loose at last year’s prom. Everyone in this community works so hard, and they clearly play hard too! This year, we’re taking it up a notch – we’ve even got a few surprises up our sleeves. Reigning prom king and queen, Jeremy Weiskotten and Rebecca Corliss, will be back to hand over their crowns to the evening’s best dressed, so bring your creative black tie A-game!”
So dust off your best inspired prom gear and get ready for a full night of debauchery. Tickets are $45 and will fly out the door – in fact, due to the demand, more tickets were just released (but they are limited). Our advice: lock it down now, before it’s too late!
