Boston has no shortage of popular eateries. From time to time, however, a very good restaurant seems to fall through the cracks and misses out on the recognition it deserves. In this semi-regular series, we will share our picks for those underrated dining spots that might strike your fancy.
Up next: Zaftigs…but for dinner!
Ever drive by Zaftigs on a Sunday morning, thinking you’ll pop in for challah French toast, see the line and bolt? Yea, practically every time. In fact, the day of my college graduation it was pouring so my family and I opted for breakfast over the university-wide ceremony portion (I went to part of it). We headed to Zaftigs, thinking that with everyone accounted for at Nickerson Field, we’d pop right in. Wrong again. Huge line. Obviously, it’s all about the brunch here, people.
But, the great news is, breakfast here is served all day. So skip the line, and have banana-walnut pancakes or potato pancakes with smoked salmon any time of day. As everyone knows, breakfast for dinner tastes better anyway.
Plus, if your friends aren’t into breakfast for dinner, they have a huge selection of non-breakfast items, including a pretty killer chicken noodle soup for cold February nights like the ones we are having now.
We want to hear from you, too – tell us your favorite or forgotten spots in the comments.
