White smoke over the Vatican and Catholics around the world have a new Pope.

We broke down some of the support for Boston’s Cardinal O’Malley, but it looks like the conclave had other ideas. As the sun set in Rome, Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio of Argentina was introduced as Pope Francis.

Once Pope hopeful (Popeful?), Cardinal O’Malley appears to be returning to the Archdiocese here at home to lead Catholics in the Hub. More on this to come, obviously, but for now, the Boston side of the story has moved along.
