Boston Marathon 2012

It’s Marathon Monday – a favorite of many in Boston. Here’s how we are ringing in the day.

Alex D: I’ll be at Jimmy’s in Washington square… right on Beacon Street, garage door window wall to the street. Awesome.

Natty: Any bar along the route is great, but if you can watch from an apartment on Beacon Street, you’ve got it made.

Drea: ON THE STREET like a college student! I always start in Washington Square (with jello shots!) before spending the day walking the course into the city. It’s fun to spend a bulk of time in Coolidge Corner and end near the finish line. Look out for great opportunities to meet future spouses in Kenmore!

Jarret: For suburban types, the grassy median on Commonwealth Avenue in Newton is a prime viewing location. It’s mostly residential and (of course) crowded, but there is a lot of space to spread out a blanket and lawn chairs and get ‘yer picnic on.

Dave: Anywhere on the stretch along Commonwealth Ave from the top of Heartbreak Hill to Chestnut Hill Ave – that mile and a half leg includes views of the Reservoir, BC and it’s really the beginning of the downhill part of the course. You see it in the runners’ faces – that crowd just feeds off of it and is loud and awesome.
