Boston Calling 5 25 13

Resting in the wake of this weekend’s Boston Calling festival wasn’t enough for Crash Line Productions. As The National took the stage to close out the festival on City Hall Plaza on Sunday night, producers announced a sequel: another two day festival– same vibe, same  channel– for September 7 and 8, 2013.

Vampire Weekend and Passion Pit will headline and are supported by Local Natives, Major Lazer, Deer Tick, hip hop artist Kendrick Lamar, and a ton of other acts. Though Passion Pit is touted as a Cambridge act, I hold with particular pride that front man Mike Angelakos is actually from Buffalo.

Like this weekend’s production, September’s Boston Calling will see two stages, a VIP section, and food truck “pavillion.” General admission weekend passes start at $120 and VIP weekend passes are $325, with prices slated to go up later in the summer. Tickets go on sale on May 31 at The Sinclair or Royale box offices (no service charge) or at bostoncalling.com.
