I still wear my yellow and blue volunteer jacket with pride. I was there that day. I helped make the 2013 Boston Marathon the memorable day that it was for thousands of runners. In light of what happened that afternoon at the finish line, it’s become a badge of honor. Volunteering for the race is one of the best Boston experiences any runner or non-runner can have.
You too can make 2014 a year to remember by volunteering for the Boston Marathon. The Boston Athletic Association is in search of 10,000 volunteers to make up next year’s crew. Whether it’s at bag check in Hopkinton, at a water station along the course, or at the finish line, your service is appreciated by everyone. Register for the volunteer lottery today. What better way to honor your city than to be a part of next year’s marathon.
