We’ll Drink to That: Some Cambridge Restos Rosé Sales to Benefit the One Fund on 4/25

One of the best parts of summer, for me at least, is that it’s finally the right temperature to drink rosé.

After a long, cold winter, I’m ready to sip on some delicious pink bubbles. Plus, in light of last week’s events, I’m even more eager to support causes that give back to our community.

So, I’m happy to share that tomorrow, 4/25, local haunts belly wine bar, the blue room and the delightful provisions store central bottle are honoring Venice’s annual rosebud festival, Festa del Boccolo.

For every glass or bottle of rose sold at these locations tomorrow, 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the One Fund. Sounds like a good time to relax for a minute in the nicer weather and stock up on some summer staples – pink bubbles.

A little history lesson: Venice’s Rosebud Festival is celebrated on St. Mark’s Day, which honors the patron saint of Venice. To celebrate his feast day, Venetian males traditionally give their beaus a red rose on April 25th.

Ginger Explosion

I thought this was some weird event for a mass assembly of redheads. That creeped me out…too much pale skin, freckles, and the smell of SFP 70 for me to handle all at once.

Fortunately for 99% of the world (no I’m not getting political) redheads will not host “Occupy Somerville” on January 28th.

Instead, head to PA’s Lounge for Ginger [Root] Explosion #4 to sample some of Boston’s food trucks and Ginger Cocktails!

Roxy’s Grilled Cheese, Staff Meal, Dosa N Curry, and Mei Mei will all be in attendance.

What: ArtsUnion Ginger Explosion 4 at PA’s Lounge
When: Monday 1/28, 6:30-8:30PM
Where: 345 Somerville Ave, Somerville, MA
Cost: $13

This event will raise money for ArtsUnion, a cultural council designed to engage the public with Somerville’s artistic culture.  ArtsUnion “produces events, markets, and cultural tours that show the cultural and artistic diversity of Union Square”.

Side note/ Thank God: No redheads will be exploded at this event.
