OUT & About

OUT and About – Boston Pride 2013 Recap

I hope that the LGBTQs of Boston will forgive me for missing the Pride Parade this past weekend, especially after publishing this article a month ago. I was actually celebrating a (straight) wedding up in New Hampshire, and while I had a blast there, I’ll admit I longed a bit for the rainbow overtones of Boston Pride Week.

Luckily for me (and all of us), our friend BosGuy has come up with a recap of the week so fabulous that you’ll practically feel like you’re covered in glitter when you’re done watching. Check it out below!

Notes to self: buy more tank tops, actually use gym membership.

Jamaica Plain, Things to Do

Weekend Alert: FANCY PANTS Dance Party in JP

Saturday: looking to get funky and fancy – simultaneously? Yes.

FANCY PANTS is a queer dance party at Midway Cafe in Jamaica Plain (and birthday celebration for the host, no gift required). There are buttons and tuxedo t-shirts. There’s a raffle with prizes donated by Good Vibrations and Fenway Health. And best of all, proceeds from all of this will benefit the Transgender Law Center.

Boston house DJ duo Elder Brothers? will spin dance, hip hop and Motown mashups. Maybe all at once, we’re not sure.

The party kicks off at 8:00. Tickets are $7 before 10:00, $9 after. Get your thang on.

Donations for the Transgender Law Center are also accepted through causes.org.
